I’m a manager at a company that has the mission to make learning more intuitive by helping individuals develop the skills they need for career success. We focus on producing VR simulations for multiple clients (designed by each industry). Our technology provides immersive training, shown to have higher retention when compared to video tutorials, slide presentations, or other training methods.

We hired them to develop VR simulations for an end client.

Treeview provides us with VR development. We gave them a functional document they had to follow, including storyboards and guidelines on what the client wanted. From there, they’ve worked to create simulations. They’ve delivered three projects and are working on the fourth one. The projects have included two simulations for the culinary and one for an electrical construction industry. The current one is for aviation.

I’ve worked with 3–4 people, including Horacio (Managing Director), Pablo (Unity C# & VR/AR Programmer), and Jimmy (Unity 3D Developer).

I didn’t personally hire Treeview; they were already our partner when I came on board. However, I believe we hired them because the team saw potential in them.

I started working with them in August 2021, and our partnership is ongoing.

Collaboration with Treeview is very good. They’re professionals with a lot of experience and skills that have helped us reach the quality we wanted. As for metrics, we evaluate the number of bugs and the team’s responsiveness. We also look at their effectiveness in proposing solutions and ideas as well as the follow-up, day-to-day communication, conflict resolution, and the quality of QA.

They’re great at project management and communication. We don’t have a language barrier because they speak very good English. They’re very proactive in proposing solutions for issues both on their and our sides. As for deadlines, when they commit to a timeline, they almost always meet it (although VR development sometimes can be unexpected). We communicate through Slack and video calls.

I’m impressed with Treeview’s proactive approach. We appreciate that they don’t do finger-pointing or stay idle when an issue isn’t on their side. The team is on top of things and very kind and communicative. Most importantly, the quality of their work is also good; they have strong developers.

I don’t think they have any weak points. They’re a very strong-performing team, and hopefully, we can continue working with them.

You should trust them! Also, be clear with your expectations and have documentation on what you need. This way, you can make sure everything is understood and avoid misunderstandings. You don’t need to micromanage them; you can let them do the work and be sure it’ll be good.

I'm the director of Ulta Beauty. We experiment and try out new technologies, such as AR and VR. My team, in particular, is called the new experiences team and we define and create experiences to try new technologies and show these experiences to our customers.

One of the things that we wanted to do last year was provide AR experiences inside our stores. We did research last year, and we found that using Unity allows people to create AR content right on both iOS and Android platforms. Treeview knew about developing these kinds of experiences on Unity, and that’s why we reached out to them.

Treeview helped us create an AR experience for our guests and wanted to distribute it on iOS and Android. We first discussed that we didn't want to create an experience from scratch, so they proposed two solutions. One was to create a dynamic framework that would allow our people to use this tool in the future to create new experiences.

We worked with a manager, an architect, a developer, and 1–2 3D content designers.

My boss knew Treeview from her network here in Uruguay. She contacted them, and I followed up with them.

We worked together from November 2021–May 2022 to create. At the end of last year, they started the second stage, which entailed the development of the dynamic framework. We also had them make the first VR experience in the middle of that stage.

Our feedback is more qualitative than quantitative since I don’t have any numbers for this. We wanted to experiment, and as a result, we learned a lot of new things. For this year, we’re adapting our experimentation based on the finding that we’ve had with the framework that Treeview created.

They were pretty organized in terms of project management. We used Slack and scheduled meetings through Calendly and Zoom regarding tools.

I'd absolutely work with them again; since my team is all about new experiences and innovation, our requirements changed mid-project, and Treeview was always very open to adapting without putting the deadline at risk. We always had a back and forth with them to accomplish our goals without changing the dates, which was awesome.

I’m the manager of the Mechanical Engineering Department for a University in Canada.

We were looking to partner with a vendor to help us develop a mobile application for AR. Our purpose was to create educational content that would be useful for engineering students.

Treeview.studio created iOS and Android apps for us, and our team was in charge of handling the content. Treeview came up with a relatively easy and lightweight way for us to integrate and manage our content generation and onboarding. They also helped with a lot of the app backend development and troubleshooting.

We worked with at least three people from Treeview that I know, including Horacio (Managing Director). However, I’m unaware of how many more people worked on backend development.

We had some college students working on vendor analysis for us. Treeview came up as a firm with experience. They had some app framework in place that they could quickly adapt and customize to our needs for a fraction of the cost of what other vendors were able to offer.

We spent $15,000–$18,000.

We started talking to Treeview around October 2020, and we had a contract in place in the middle of December 2020. We had the app data up and running by February 2021, and they completed the primary outcomes of the contract by the end of April 2021. The whole project took about four months, and they completed a big task within the first 5–6 weeks of starting working with us. The contract also included a year’s worth of service which we're currently in.

We’re just starting to notice the results and need to build meaningful content to support education from our side now. From the beta test that we did in the winter, I can say that this app provided us a new educational modality to teach students — it'll be very helpful in the context of remote lessons.

Treeview project management was pretty strong. My team did more of the day-to-day communication, and we used Slack as the main communication channel. Treeview was very responsive through Slack and typically responded within minutes.

When we did scope changes, Treeview was really accommodating in keeping working under the same contract. They weren’t like other companies that, with scope changes, also change the contract and the cost. Treeview was very flexible in terms of realizing that the changes required about the same amount of work — they were very fair from a cost standpoint and very willing to work with us.

I’m satisfied with Treeview’s work, and I haven’t found any deficiencies in any particular area.

Their team created an Instagram filter for a competition that was part of a marketing campaign for one of our clients.

It was our first time working with this technology so we asked around for references and many of them led us to Treeview.studio. We asked for quotations and proposals from different companies and ended working with them. We liked that they’re based in the same country we are, which gave us peace of mind. We were happy with their work. At first, we delivered the filters to the client and encountered a couple of setbacks. The filters didn’t respond to movement as we expected, but Treeview.studio took some time to re-work that and we ended up being very happy with the final results. They had great flexibility and a good response to our feedback.

They met all deadlines and had a great response. We corresponded via email or WhatsApp and the communication was completely fluid. Treeview.studio always had great follow-up and showed great interest in making sure the development worked well for the campaign.

I’m the CEO and owner of an R&D software firm.

We needed additional help on some of our AR applications because our internal staff was booked. They’re part of a circle of trusted vendors that we’ve interviewed and used internally, so we had them help us with an AR application project.

They’re primarily using AR Foundation within Unity, which uses mostly C#, to create the app. The final product is a mobile app for iOS and Android. It was part of a huge immersive training project, but they helped us with the stand-alone companion app for the experience.

We worked with one person directly.

We found them on Clutch and verified their quality through internal referrals. Our company has about 75 employees, and part of the group is a gaming studio. We asked those employees for referrals. It’s a close-knit community, so we figured they would provide us with good information. The team recommended Treeview.studio.

Their services allowed flexibility and elasticity in our workforce that ultimately delivered the application our client wanted. We needed additional help, and they provided excellent expertise in AR and R&D work.

We’re an agile shop that works in Microsoft Teams and are a bit picky about communication styles. Our expectations are that our vendors and employees can work in close to real-time communication. They didn’t stand out negatively, but we felt that their responsiveness and communication were about average for an outsourced group. Our main points of contact had very good English skills.

They have a specific domain strength in AR.
