Our goal was to display our business and its main suppliers with video and make it look professional

I really enjoyed the process and how fast the Team was able to listen and gain a complete understanding of our business with little or no duplication of explanation required - I was confident based on that initial high level plan they gave me from the little info i gave them they would be able to deliver a professional video

initial discussion was what we were and what we were looking for. they provided a high level plan which made me comfortable they knew what they were doing. we got to a script and location plan very easily with them reviewing all the issues with each location in detail. the actual day of filming was excellent with the crew exercising great patience with our lack of skill bein on camera. the first draft was so close to perfect and within 30 days we had a final publishable video

I am a content development lead. I lead the production of articles, podcasts, videos, etc.

Our project involved making health and safety information accessible to employers in Ontario. Safety Tips are short Q&A style videos (around 30 seconds - 1 minute in length) shot virtually. The videos showcase our staff safety experts sharing informative, timely information for our customers and answering common questions. Each video opens with a question and have our SMEs answering in 30 seconds – 1 minute.

We were searching through Google and Bark.com. We decided to choose this vendor because they understood the project, had an impressive portfolio, were within our budget and seemed like a flexible, wonderful team to work with!

We had a list of ideas and then I arranged the dates with the SMEs. Then I would schedule the dates with Six Degrees and supply them wit h the video questions to be answered. We would arrange a meeting with the SME through Zoom and Six Degrees would record and direct our SME. Then we would be sent drafts for feedback and input.

We worked with Lee Anne and Bernadette. The feedback process was easy through Vimeo and email, and they were always responsive.

We have had great results on social media, using them in article content and in our training.

They would provide frequent updates, use easy tools to book, and easy tools to provide feedback.

They quickly got up to speed on undererstanding the topics and finding b-roll which is a challenge in our industry! They were also very flexible and responsive if we needed edits to the videos even post-production.

I would have been lovely to meet them and do a shoot in person, however we are geographically across the country.

We hired Six Degrees for their video production services.

Six Degrees handled everything from planning, scriptwriting, and preproduction to postproduction and editing. The video was animated, and it aimed to tell the story of our brand. The team also handled the voiceover and audio mixing components. They took care of all the sound editing and music licensing, too. We simply had to choose the voices that would resonate with our audience, and their resources put everything together.

I mainly dealt with Lee-Anne (Co-Owner & Head of Video Production Canada), who served as our project manager. She had a team that she used to create animations, storyboards, and everything else. She probably had half a dozen team members within that team.

Lee-Anne reached out to me on LinkedIn. When we first connected, I let her know that I’d just started at the company and that we were in the midst of repositioning. I advised her to reach out to me again after six months.

We invested roughly around $20,000 CAD (approximately $16,000 USD).

This project lasted from December 2021–March 2022.

The video was finished, and we’ve since used it on our website and social media channels. We’ve used it on LinkedIn and Instagram. Since the video also explained our business well, our department has also used it for telling our brand story to new recruits and candidates.

The process was seamless. Lee-Anne did a fantastic job at managing the process and keeping things on track. She was proactive and upfront about scope changes. She was also transparent about any additional costs or efforts, so we experienced no surprises.

Six Degrees was great at telling stories and creating the right visuals for the video through collaboration. Moreover, their team was inquisitive. They were curious so they asked many questions. As a result, they didn’t have much learning curve; they understood our business quickly.

Transparency is the biggest key to success. Be open, and don’t hide anything. Be clear about your expectations, and make sure that your story is straight before you engage Six Degrees. When your story starts to shift and change, that’s when things get expensive.

We needed to revise and update some training videos that were 20 years old, and we needed it done quickly

I did a Google search for a company in Vancouver with experience in this area and an interest in projects in my price range. Six degrees was quick to respond and I felt comfortable with their professionalism.

Six Degrees looked after all aspects of producing the videos, from finding the sets to vetting actors to shooting and editing.

I worked with the local manager and the director to finalize scripts and to choose the actors for each of 4 roles in 4 different videos. One the day of the shoot I attended to ensure the actors understood what I was looking for.

The videos themselves are excellent, but not any less than I would expect from a competent producer. What stood out for me were two things.

I’m the co-founder of a startup, and we’re marketing our TaxZilla app.

Six Degrees Productions guided us through the video production process because this was our first time doing this. After that, they created a draft of the script and we reviewed it. We then provided feedback, and they asked for more screenshots of the app. Once they were done with the first draft of the video, we selected the music and they made some adjustments before sending the final product.

Overall, we’d definitely work with them again in the future because they did an excellent job.

They had a good process, which allowed them to meet the deadlines and milestones. They also stayed on budget. We communicated over email and Zoom.
