I am the Licensed Marriage And Family Therapist of a healthcare company

Since 2005, Perlman Clinic has been providing quality primary care in San Diego. Our primary and urgent care providers have a range of backgrounds, specializing in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Integrative Medicine and Preventive Medicine.

Our goal in hiring Internet Stars was to modernize and simplify our patient mobile application. As a multi-location healthcare provider, we needed a more intuitive interface that could streamline appointment scheduling, telehealth visits, access to medical records, and real-time communication between patients and providers. Alongside this, we needed a solid mobile marketing plan to increase adoption of the app among existing patients and new users—especially those less tech-savvy or hesitant to use digital tools for healthcare.

The project began with a discovery and audit phase, during which they evaluated our existing app, reviewed user feedback, and conducted interviews with staff and patients. From there, they moved into wireframing, prototyping, and eventually delivering polished UI designs.

Since launching the redesigned app, we’ve seen a noticeable increase in patient app adoption, particularly among older demographics who had previously avoided using it. Appointment no-shows dropped slightly, and our staff reported a reduction in redundant calls for tasks now easily handled through the app. Most importantly, patient feedback has been overwhelmingly positive—especially in terms of usability and telehealth functionality. We also saw improved ratings in the app stores, thanks in large part to the marketing and ASO efforts.

Project management was one of the highlights of working with Internet Stars. Everything was mapped out in a clear roadmap, with weekly checkpoints and asynchronous updates. They used tools like Figma for collaboration and ClickUp to keep track of tasks and dependencies.

What stood out the most was how thoroughly they immersed themselves in the patient experience. Many design teams can create beautiful interfaces, but Internet Stars went deeper by engaging our front desk staff, nurses, and even a handful of frequent patients to ensure their solutions were practical and grounded in reality.

If we had to point to one area, it would be early integration testing with our legacy backend systems. While not directly their fault, we encountered a few minor hiccups where UI features relied on data feeds that were more limited than anticipated. Once flagged, they quickly worked with our developers to create workarounds, but earlier flagging of integration constraints might have prevented a few days of back-and-forth.

Our team uses machine learning and data science to provide our partners a standardized lens into risk, identifying the best, safest loans in the $100 billion marketplace lending space. We use these insights to manage a $2B+ portfolio of whole loans and ABS aiming to deliver investors attractive and stable risk-adjusted returns across the business cycle.

The scope of the project included a complete UI/UX redesign of our mobile app, user journey mapping, competitor benchmarking, and marketing strategy development for app user acquisition.

After relaunching our app with Internet Stars’ designs and marketing support, we saw stronger engagement among new users—especially in completing the onboarding funnel and exploring educational content. App store traffic and downloads noticeably increased, and our internal product team reported fewer UX-related support tickets. We also saw better retention in week-over-week cohorts compared to the previous version of the app.

Internet Stars handled the project with impressive attention to detail and structure. From the kickoff call, they built out a realistic timeline and made sure we had a shared calendar of milestones and review points. Their project manager was highly responsive—any time we needed clarification or had a last-minute change in user flow, they were quick to accommodate and provide alternatives.

Their ability to combine deep financial industry insight with fresh, user-friendly design really stood out. We’ve worked with design agencies in the past that were either too generic or overly focused on aesthetics at the expense of function. Internet Stars managed to strike a balance—delivering a beautiful UI that remained grounded in user behavior, industry compliance, and app performance goals.

If anything, it would have been helpful to have more frequent deep-dive analytics discussions post-launch. While we did receive dashboards and performance updates, a few more strategy check-ins could’ve allowed us to pivot sooner on certain marketing tactics. That said, once we voiced this, they were quick to schedule more data-driven sessions and offered valuable insights going forward.

I am the Lead Talent Partner of a financial services company

Leading Pay Over Time platform for in-person services. The company partners with top SaaS service companies to embed payment options directly into their software through a simple API integration. Service businesses rely on us to offer their customers flexible, point of sale financing, enabling them to quickly and easily pay over time for essential services.

The project was divided into two main streams: UX/UI Design and Mobile & App Marketing.

The results were very tangible. We saw a notable increase in loan application completions and a strong uptick in app store conversions after the new visuals and copy went live. The restructured onboarding process reduced churn significantly, and we received positive feedback from users who said the app felt “more transparent and easier to use.” Internally, our support ticket volume dropped, which speaks to how much more intuitive the new interface has become.

Project management was smooth and professional. We worked in bi-weekly sprints with a shared Notion board that tracked all tasks, milestones, and dependencies. Internet Stars never missed a sprint delivery and often came to sprint reviews with options we hadn’t even thought of.

Internet Stars has brought an uncommon blend of creativity and strategic thinking. Many agencies can build a pretty app, but this team thought deeply about what each screen needed to accomplish for our users. During a workshop, their UX lead suggested breaking our loan calculator into a two-step experience, based on their research that users felt overwhelmed with too much data up front. That small change significantly increased completion rates during testing.

If I had to offer one suggestion, it would be more robust real-time analytics dashboards during campaign rollouts. While their monthly reporting was detailed and valuable, having a live view of performance would have helped us make mid-campaign pivots more quickly. That said, they were very receptive to the feedback, and I understand they’re already developing this feature for future clients.
