I’m the co-founder, president, and CEO of Zuri Fertility, a digital fertility company. We modernize the fertility journey for today’s families. We provide education, telehealth, at-home testing, and care navigation and support throughout the fertility journey for couples.

We needed to build our application in a timely manner. We were working with a different development firm, but they weren’t doing the job.

Fulcrum has helped us expand from our idea, concept, wireframes, and MVP. They’ve built the UI/UX portion to make it seamless, easy to use, and visually appealing.

We’re involved with a few people, but our main contact is Alex (Product Owner). Additionally, we have Fedor (Lead Designer), Dima (Product Designer), and other people on the team.

My co-founder and I met another founder at a health conference. This woman created an app, and she recommended Fulcrum. She said she didn’t even consider getting a development team in the US because Fulcrum was so good she didn’t need anyone else. Afterward, we were pretty excited to see what they could do.

We’ve spent close to $200,000.

We started talking to them in April 2023 and brought them on in May 2023. Our relationship is ongoing.

We haven’t released everything to the general public. This is basically a pilot app, so we’re not fully there yet. However, users and advisors are currently looking at the app, and it’s been all positive feedback. We’ll do more work with Fulcrum, but they’ve helped us move forward with the project.

The team is filled with extraordinary people to work with. They make it very easy for us. We’re pretty sensitive to budget, but Fulcrum has been patient with us and works around our budget. As a startup, we’re very busy trying to take care of many things, so we appreciate that. We could find someone cheaper, but they wouldn’t do it right.

Alex is far above and beyond the best we’ve encountered in this role; it’s been a pleasure having Alex. We really appreciate him.

Fulcrum has experience doing medical apps, so they know how to deal with HIPAA compliance and sensitive information. We don’t have to explain to them why something is important, which takes time away. They understand what we’re talking about and do their homework on what they need to know.

Pricing is difficult; it would be helpful if we didn’t have so many meetings about it. However, I understand their perspective; they want to clarify certain things. Other than that, they’ve been pretty accommodating.

I recommend sitting on most of the meetings at the beginning to understand who’s everyone on the team and how they work. If you share an open dialog, you can move forward faster. Once Fulcrum gets an understanding of how you work and who you are, it becomes easier.

What impressed us the most was their rigor, follow-up, and overall professionalism throughout the project.

One area that could be improved concerns cost control at the beginning of the project. The pre-sale estimation ended up being significantly below the final scope and cost of the project, which made the initial budget expectations somewhat difficult to manage at the start.

The project resulted in a fully functional, scalable platform that successfully launched on schedule. We now have a structured and searchable library database that makes it easy for users to access hundreds of resources. Since launch, we’ve seen steady growth in memberships, positive feedback from parents and educators on the platform’s usability, and increased engagement with our resource library.

Their project management was excellent. They consistently delivered items on time and were highly responsive to our needs throughout the process. Whenever we had new requests or adjustments, they adapted quickly and made sure everything stayed on track.

What impressed us most was their willingness to help at every stage of the project. They were incredibly fast and responsive whenever we reached out, and the quality of their work consistently met or exceeded our expectations.

Overall, we were very satisfied with the collaboration. If anything, we’re always looking for ways to decrease our development budget, so exploring more opportunities to integrate AI-assisted coding or automation could be helpful in the future. That said, they may already be doing some of this behind the scenes.
