Empat joined the project at a critical stage where the frontend was partially developed and some documentation existed, while the backend was built in .NET. After reviewing the legacy backend and confirming its quality, we jointly decided to rewrite it in Laravel to align with our long-term technology strategy. The scope covered: • Product discovery and logic workshops: multiple brainstorming sessions to validate streaming flows, monetization rules, and user roles. • Backend re-architecture & redevelopment: complete rebuild in PHP Laravel, including database redesign, API development, and real-time streaming support logic. • Core streaming features: development of a multi-format streaming system supporting private 1-on-1 sessions, location-based global requests, streamer monetization through public and private requests, and external-device streaming (e.g., drones). • Integration with existing frontend: ensuring compatibility with the partially developed client-side app and improving API consistency. • QA and stability work: functional testing, regression testing, test case creation, performance and load testing, and preparation for MVP launch. Empat essentially became a full product and engineering partner — not only rewriting backend services, but also shaping the MVP to be commercially viable.

A clear and stable Laravel backend roadmap has been developed to replace the previous .NET stack while keeping compatibility with the existing frontend. Key monetization and access-control logic for paid live streams has been designed and is currently being implemented. Product decision-making has been accelerated thanks to Empat’s recommendations on prioritization and technical trade-offs, helping the team regain confidence in development velocity and MVP direction after setbacks with the previous vendor.
