Durran supports Bliro in Product Discovery and UI/UX Design. Durran takes over User Feedback Management and insight extraction supporting and consulting the leadership team in strategic decision making. Durran takes over the complete design process including prototyping, testing, development of UI/UX for our product landscape. The product landscape features a web, mobile and desktop app. When designs are ready for implementation, Durran takes over engineering handover. Lastly, Durran iterates over existing designs and maintains the design twin of our user facing elements in Figma.

A project plan and expected outcome was defined before starting it up. Durran delivered in time and exceeded our expectations.

Project Management is done in Linear, our internal tool. Durran quickly adapted and uses Linear proficiently.

The project focused on improving the mobile app experience for stylists using SalonScale, a backbar and color cost management platform. The goal was to increase usability, efficiency, and adoption among stylists by reducing friction during in-session logging, improving clarity around product usage and costs, and ensuring the mobile experience supported real salon workflows.

This project was broken down into milestones that had deadlines to meet. At each phase we would work with our customer success team to get feedback and do any updates as needed. Based on the feedback there may need a couple more revisions before we could move onto the next milestone.

We would have 2 scheduled sessions each week. These would be remote meetings through Google Meet where we would review the work done and go over any feedback and next steps. We also would coordinate through Slack as needed for any communication needed outside of the scheduled sessions. We had milestones to meet and they would deliver on time. Often they would present a couple options to bring back and get feedback on. If any changes were needed they were quick to do any updates at any point in the process.

Virtual Meeting

They had deep design thinking skills and didn't just produce good looking designs. Durran consistently anchored design decisions in business goals and real user behavior. They challenged assumptions, clarified the problem, and ensured every design decision tied back to the outcomes we were looking for.

Earlier alignment on technical constraints would have helped. Some concepts pushed the product forward in the right direction but required later adjustment once engineering constraints were clearer. Bringing technical feasibility conversations (or a lightweight engineering check) slightly earlier could have reduced iteration and helped prioritize ideas with a faster path to implementation.

I'm the CTO of Flixier, an AI-powered video studio in the browser. Users can start fast with AI and then take full control to bring their content to life.

We needed help elevating the UI/UX of Flixier so that our product could better reflect the quality and innovation behind the technology.

Durran has revamped our existing interface and designed new features and functionalities for Flixier. Their work includes modernizing outdated parts of the product, ensuring consistency across the platform, and creating intuitive designs for the new capabilities we're rolling out. The main deliverables are updated UI components, improved UX flows, and detailed design assets that our engineering team can implement directly.

Despite the complexity of the work, they deliver on time and in line with the milestones we've agreed on, which makes the collaboration smooth and efficient. We communicate using Slack.

Most important part was developing a UX for users of the product called TypingDNA Verify, which asks the user to type a few words and authenticates them as a 2nd factor either stand alone or as OIDC factor in major IAM platforms. This was by far the biggest challenge and we went through multiple ideas, iterations, testing, etc.

We ran user experiments and testing both internally and externally, and kept the best performing UX. The whole project was designed so we can confidently pick a solution together that works for our project and our users.

Exemplary project management, they helped our team pull together resources and deliver results in the planned timeframe. Everything was well planned and documented.
