I'm a managing director at an accounting firm that provides tax audit and advisory services.

We needed support with the design and implementation of our tax software products. Our in-house team didn't have the overall level of experience required for this enterprise software development project.

Brainhub provides staff augmentation services for our company. Brainhub works on Angular frontend development and uses .NET for backend development and PostgreSQL for databases. Brainhub also provides mentoring for our in-house development team.

We work with Nina (Project Manager), Matt (Co-Founder & Board Member), a software architect, software developers, a business analyst, and a UI/UX designer. We're about to integrate a QA specialist into the team.

We've spent over $1 million on this project.

We've been working with Brainhub since April 2023. I worked with Brainhub for five years with my previous employer, and we've been working together for one year at my current company.

Brainhub provides the resources I require for this project with the required experience level. Our in-house team couldn't develop at the pace required by our stakeholders, so we brought Brainhub's team to support our project and meet our desired timeframe. Our internal team would've taken 3x more time than Brainhub's team, and that's how I got the budget approved for this project. Every Brainhub teammate I've worked with has greatly contributed to our project. I've never worked with a teammate from Brainhub that doesn't meet our performance requirements. Brainhub is a boutique firm and skilled organization. The team has a rigorous hiring process, and they're very selective. Brainhub only hires about 1% of the professionals they interview.

Brainhub delivers work on time and on budget, and Nina runs our daily stand-up meetings. Brainhub uses Azure DevOps to manage our backlog, Microsoft Teams for chatting, and Confluence for sharing information.

I've returned to Brainhub several times for different projects and worked with teams of different sizes depending on our business cycle. Other boutique firms charge a lot of money compared to Brainhub, and I haven't found more skilled resources than Brainhub's team. I've worked with on-shore and off-shore developers, and developers from the US are more expensive than developers in Poland, from which I get a lot of quality work.

I can't think of anything for Brainhub to improve — the fact that I continue to hire the team is the best review I can give.

The project involved the conceptualization and development of a high-fidelity prototype for our startup’s career networking application, with the primary objective of showcasing the product vision to potential investors. Brainhub were given a POC calculation of a very overengineered (regulatory) formula that is required to determine a sample size for certain audits. We gave them a very high level brief on what the tool needed to do, and left the rest in their hands. They decided the technologies to use, how to build the algorithms, how to input and output and then showed us. Works perfectly, needed very little guidance from us to build a slick looking interface.

They came in on time, on budget, with no outstanding issues

They genuinely seemed interested in our not very interesting project, they obviously love what they do and like taking on projects that are a bit different. We definitely want to work with them on more projects going forward

All good from my perspective, it was a small project that shouldn't have caused too many struggles anyway, so definitely a green flag that they didn't create any.

The objective of this project was to develop a functional MVP for a custom online marketplace, enabling auditors to find and match with available audits based on their expertise and qualifications. The key deliverable was the design and development of the marketplace web application.
