I’m the CTO of a fintech company. We're not a bank-licensed service, but we run a service on top of bank solutions. We create fintech apps to offer more modern financial services to end users.

We engaged with Beetroot AB to get their tech competence for the launch of our expanded product offering.

Beetroot AB specializes in app development. Initially, we were thinking of developing a solution for both iOS and Android, but we ended up only developing it for Android. The main deliverable was an end-to-end integration with our banking partners.

We've worked with one Android developer and an account manager from Beetroot AB. When we started the project, we were talking about having a full team from their company, but we only met with one developer due to our financial abilities. They also provided us with a person competent enough to do the full delivery by himself, which was very cost-efficient for us.

Although I wasn't part of my company when the project started, I know that Beetroot AB is fairly locally famous in Sweden. Although they have their business in Ukraine, they're quite famous in Sweden because they have Swedish owners.

We've spent around $8,000 per month for the last three years. In total, we've spent between $200,000–$900,000.

The project started around October 2021, and it's ongoing. However, I didn't join the project until January 2022. We started launching the app as a standalone app. However, we've decided to combine it with our existing app instead.

This has been a fairly complex technical delivery since it is a bank integration. Still, Beetroot AB has delivered on time and achieved a fairly autonomous and professional delivery.

Beetroot AB has been very agile. The developer was initially incorporated into an Agile team, so we've established a normal Agile team delivery setup with regular feedback on delivery. We've used Microsoft Teams, Jira, and Slack for project management and communication. We've had one-on-one biweekly meetings with the developer.

Beetroot AB's competence and flexibility have been impressive. They have a skilled developer and a very easy and flexible account manager. Our dialogue has been effortless, and by working with them, we have the ability to scale our team up and down as needed.

There's nothing I'd have them improve.

The work was to take an idea and define different functions and narrow a scope for an MVP and to build a clickable prototype in Figma to showcase the project for investors.

Delivery was on time, and work was well structured. The project manager also had a good communication skills, and all in the team understood the main idea for the app and how to translate that in the best way into a UI/UX.

The team was very reactive to suggestions and improvements and also had a lot of suggestions on how to improve the UX/UI experience. All work was done very professional and with high quality. The output was a roboust clickable prototype in Figma, that's going to be used to showcase the idea for investors.

I'm the engineering manager at a SaaS company within the HR space. Our software measures the engagement levels and well-being of employees in various companies and organizations.

We needed access to good and cost-effective developers to support our ongoing operations. We were looking to work with skilled and versatile developers outside of Sweden and spend less than local teams charge.

Beetroot AB provides staff augmentation services for our company. We provide Beetroot AB with a job description of the resources we require, and the team hires developers who incorporate into our team and work on our company's projects full-time.

We've worked with different teammates over the years, and at the moment, we work directly with 2–3 developers.

I'm impressed by Beetroot AB's ability to find skilled candidates, even though the market has been challenging at some points of our engagement. During the Russian Invasion of Ukraine, Beetroot AB helped relocate their employees and ensured they had access to an internet connection, which I found impressive as well.

I can't think of anything Beetroot AB can improve.

I suggest being very clear about your needs in terms of job descriptions and the resources' required soft skills. You need to be specific about whether you need a consultant who only executes or if you're looking for a professional who takes the initiative because there are different types of profiles.

We had an initial call where we provided Beetroot AB with an RFP and documentation since we needed to rebuild an existing platform from scratch. We provided Beetroot AB with background about the current platform's state and our expectations for this project. Beetroot AB returned with a deck, and I introduced them to my team after we selected them. Beetroot AB has defined user requirements, collected user stories, and interviewed members of our team. With this information, the team has created the project's business requirements. Beetroot AB is responsible for our platform's front- and backend development, working simultaneously on mock-ups and QA testing. The software emulates a social media platform where users can interact and create posts in real-time. Beetroot AB provides maintenance, too.

We work with Beetroot AB's full stack developer for maintenance. We also work with a business analyst, a UX designer, a backend developer, two frontend developers, a QA engineer, and two project managers.

Although we haven't launched our platform to the public, Beetroot AB's work meets our expectations, especially regarding ongoing maintenance. I have confidence that their service will continue to get better.

The only thing Beetroot AB can improve is their QA testing process.

Beetroot AB provides IT staff augmentation services for us, mainly including backend development, QA testing, and UI/UX design resources. They source their internal staff for our projects, taking full responsibility for them.

We’ve worked with around two members of Beetroot AB’s team, including an account manager and an HR partner.

They were already working with us when I took my current position.

Beetroot AB’s team is always focused on learning new things and taking every development process in the right direction — that’s why they’ve kept improving throughout the partnership. They also change a resource if needed, but we haven’t done that in the last two years.

Beetroot AB leads a smooth process. In terms of communication, we use email and Microsoft Teams for daily communication, but we also have monthly meetings with their upper management team to go over important matters.

Beetroot AB’s focus on their customer’s needs is impressive; they always understand our needs and quickly assign the right person to address them.

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on because they have the right resources to adapt to changes and challenges.
