The scope of work was focused on the Product UX Design and discovery for our Client Area application. This involved a thorough review of the existing application's user flows, identifying pain points, and creating new design solutions to modernize and optimize the core functions used by our clients within the trading platform ecosystem.

The project is currently ongoing, but the success so far is measured by the high quality of the initial design concepts and the structured process. We have clear deliverables that are helping us define the future roadmap for our platform.

It started with a discovery phase and branding work, where Merge helped us define a new visual direction and created our logo and brand assets. Next, they handled the full UX/UI design in Figma, mapping out a large number of pages, from public-facing content like our Program and Alumni sections to complex, member-only resources. A critical part of the scope was designing the integrations with our Coda database for things like alumni lists, events, and job openings. Finally, they managed the complete Webflow development, building out all the pages and integrating the database functionality.

The main outcome is a high-quality website that accurately represents our brand. We successfully launched the new site at the beginning of this year. A key success was meeting our tight deadlines, even when we encountered some complex technical challenges with integrating our database.

Structured sprints with clear epics/tasks, rapid iterations and validations, and tight day-to-day collaboration with the intermediary partner. Delivery met tight deadlines; Merge was highly responsive to shifting content/integration needs and handled middle-layer integration constraints smoothly.

Proactiveness and ownership under pressure; quick, thoughtful reactions; and a “your success is our priority” mentality paired with deep Webflow + CMS (Coda) integration know-how.

Earlier alignment on responsibilities/timelines around the middle-layer content integration would have reduced back-and-forth. Overall, we've been pleased with the partnership and the results. We continue to work with Merge, bringing them back for the development of additional pages and features.

Our partnership has had two main phases. First, Merge completed a full redesign of our key website pages, including the homepage, navigation, pricing, about us, and our various feature and use case pages. More recently, they have been executing a full UI facelift, adapting all of those pages to our new branding guidelines. This involves fine-tuning all design elements to ensure a consistent and polished look across the site.

Merge's work is ongoing and includes UI/UX design for our platform – this covers user flows for onboarding, dashboards, staking, liquidity provision, delegation, and airdrop interactions. They are also involved in marketing design. A key focus is creating a "Web2-like" intuitive interface, guided onboarding, clear financial transparency (ROI calculators, APY breakdowns), and mobile-optimized experiences.

As an ongoing project, we are continuously working with Merge to refine the platform. Their design contributions are helping us address user feedback by simplifying complex processes and improving the overall clarity of the platform. We are focused on creating intuitive journeys for different user personas, from airdrop participants to institutional investors, and Merge's input is part of this iterative process.

We primarily use Slack, Zoom, and Figma for communication. The team is proactive in discussions and receptive to our requirements.

We appreciate that Merge is proactive enough, and I like that they are looking for new ideas and solutions. This helps us explore different approaches to design challenges.

To better match our fast-paced development, I expect the speed for delivery to be a little faster. This would help in achieving a faster iteration cycle and then allow for spending better time on refining the final versions of the UI/UX.

Merge provided end-to-end design services. The team designed the 2D interface elements within the 3D VR space, tackling unique challenges like spatial UI, egocentric vs. multiplayer views, and interaction states based on distance. They developed innovative storyboarding techniques to effectively communicate designs to the Unity development team and the product leadership. They also provided dedicated product design support to help structure and visualize collaborative workshop frameworks. In order to package and present the product, Merge's web team designed a stunning marketing site, implemented with Webflow.

Merge Rocks delivered high-quality, thoughtful design work across all initiatives. Their VR design approach successfully addressed the complexities of UI in 3D space, and their novel handoff methods were effective for the Unity developers to implement high quality features in the experience. The design team from Merge were fully integrated into our team ceremonies and were a valuable part of our team's success in creating a new concept for the immersive platform.

Merge's designers integrated into our in-house process and cadence, communicating freely and proactively as if a member of the core team. The designers really embraced the challenge of many of the new and emerging patterns, approaches and capabilities in a rapidly changing environment, to become highly proficient in the value added to the project.

This project started as a largely new domain, but the team embraced that challenge with enthusiasm, curiosity and deep interest. As a result, this team accelerated their contribution and integration into a larger high functioning product team very effectively.

Given the R&D nature of these projects, the process involved learning and iteration, which Merge handled well. No significant areas for improvement specific to Merge's contribution come to mind.
