Huemor Designs is a UX and web development agency headquartered in Pittsburgh with a satellite office in New York. I’m the co-founder and managing partner of the firm.

We wanted to make the agency more visible across a multitude of channels. Our team also hoped to increase the volume of leads we were receiving from organic search by improving our rankings for key terms in search engine results.

Their work was centered around SEO services, primarily through content syndication and promotion. Our internal team continues to conduct research and analysis on certain topics before producing content in-house. That ensures that we’re getting experts writing individual pieces of content.

We have about 3–4 people assigned to the account, with Scott (Owner, fishbat Media) overseeing the entire initiative.

We met them several years ago through a mutual contact while we were headquartered in New York. We’ve been agency partners since 2016. In that time, we’ve worked with them for some of our clients’ projects. After noticing their continued success with our accounts, we took the initiative to reach out to them to put together a plan to grow our company.

We’ve spent between $50,000–$100,000 so far.

We started working together in April 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

Our traffic from organic search is up 25% and sales from organic search increased by 9%. We anticipate these numbers to rise because their SEO results seem to be compounding over time.

First and foremost, their organization and handling of their projects is first-class. They assigned a project manager to our account, and together we laid out a schedule composed of deadlines. They’ve adhered to them very closely, which hasn’t been common in my experiences with other companies. We have weekly meetings where we recap what’s planned for the next week and discuss concerns.

They offer a very clear methodology with a unique, creative spin compared to other SEO companies. Unlike their competitors, they strive to get a deep understanding of our business and how to make the most of the engagement. Additionally, having contact with the owner has been very helpful throughout.

The only thing that could use some improvement is content editing. We have writers and resources here, so we were able to give their content a second look. However, some of the editing and phrasing could’ve been a bit more precise. That’s my only critique.

Regardless of your background in digital marketing and SEO, listen to their suggestions. While I have a decent background in the field, there were concepts that they touched on that I wasn’t sure about at first. Staying open-minded allowed me to be proved wrong, benefitting our company as a result. Use them as a resource to guide your solutions.

I am the Senior Vice President of Property Operations and Maintenance Services for development and property management company.

Fishbat is our marketing vendor, helping with our website, internal marketing with tenants, and external marketing through the web. We didn’t have a marketing team prior to hiring Fishbat. Initially, we wanted to gain public awareness and drive traffic, both from our initial contact lists and through Google and Facebook. We wanted to create buzz for our property and asked Fishbat to assist with closing leads through the internet and our Constant Contact lists.

We hired Fishbat to market our recently opened luxury apartment complex in Greenwich. They have helped us with our contact list, updated our blogs, and provided general SEO content for Google based on our requirements. Fishbat has also created, sent, and managed most of our newsletters.

Fishbat was hired prior to my arrival at the company, but I believe that they were referred to us. The owner of our company met with them, listened to their pitch, and took it from there.

The initial cost of services was $4,000 per month, but we have since dialed it back after the first year. Our current annual spend is now $30,000 - $35,000.

We started working with Fishbat in June 2016, and the project is ongoing. We’re planning to continue the relationship.

We receive monthly reporting, so we do have metrics for what we’ve called impressions and engagement, including Facebook likes and overall traffic. We’ve broken down searches into paid and organic clicks. Fishbat has detailed who is visiting our pages and for how long, what devices they’re using, as well as what areas we could improve. If people are not clicking through, we can determine what has been working and what hasn’t. We can use these metrics to set the direction we want to take.

They’re well-organized and give constant updates through the project manager who is assigned to our account. They’re always looking for feedback and stay on top of our requirements, whether it’s a deadline or an answer. Fishbat molded to the direction we wanted to take. We've never had any budget or timeline issues.

They offer a number of ideas and suggestions. Fishbat has been leading us down the right path, and we trust their judgment. We’re happy with them, and I feel that the overall management and direction have been positive.

There’s room for improvement with anyone. I know that coming up with new content can be difficult, especially for a niche area, but Fishbat could improve on this slightly. We are focusing on a unique audience for our apartment complex, which is a limitation. Fishbat Media has been doing a good job, but they could expand.

I wasn’t here while hiring them, but I would make sure that, for any service being contracted, a large pool of candidates is available to vet.

We let them take over our full online strategy.

They were recommended by a local radio station. Our president decided to use them for a new website and associated marketing campaign.

We paid $18,000 as a start up for a new website. Our monthly charges are about $6,500 for the other marketing work.

We started the work in October 2016. The project is ongoing with no plans to stop currently.

We used to get 2­–3 leads per day. Through our new website, we get much more leads per day, 15–20 new customers per day. Most of our customers call or come to the office. Many clients come to the office and book products.

I like the way they managed this website launch project. They came to our office to brainstorm. They have helped our staff reduce maintenance work. They will make it happen for any client. They do industry research to learn our products.

fishbat employees get back to emails quickly and communicate well. Their whole team is easy to work with. They are a night and day improvement from our last web marketing agency.

They are great and have nothing to improve.

Clarity Benefits Solutions offers technology to support benefit brokers. I am the director of sales and marketing for our 40-person company.

We wanted to establish a stronger web presence and gain leads. We had worked with one other company in the past but were looking for a different partner. We hadn’t done any active SEO work after rebranding earlier in the year. Fishbat spearheaded our big online push.

Fishbat worked on SEO, social media campaigns, and a couple of other efforts. They’ve managed our presence on LinkedIn and Facebook and connected with 100 different people in our target market, specifically insurance brokers, in order to generate leads.

They were recommended by the company that built our website. Fishbat knew exactly what we needed from an SEO perspective, as a complementary effort to building the website. Fishbat was affordable, had a specific focus, and was also flexible.

The cost of their work has been around $75,000.

We started working with Fishbat in May 2016.

We’ve gone from having 1–2 web leads per month to around 25, and we’ve moved from having a minimal social media presence to thousands of connections with our leadership.

We communicate regularly through email and have bi-weekly calls. Most of our projects are based on monthly deliverables, so at the end of each month, we review past performance and make content plans for distribution. Generally, the work is on time and fairly organized.

They’re good at their core competency and transparent about their abilities. Fishbat is really customer-service oriented, placing a lot of emphasis on our relationship and making sure that things are going smoothly. They’re also affordable, which means their services are usable by a smaller or mid-sized company.

Fishbat should get better writers, as the copywriting could definitely be improved. This has been a challenge for us because we have many industry-specific communications being published.

We’re a manufacturer of large format outdoor graphics. Our primary business is vehicle wraps. We service all across the nation. When requested, we do supply graphics to Canada, but it’s not our primary focal point. I'm one of the owners of the company.

With our business and with our product being all customized , our goals were awareness and leads to sales. We wanted to get brand awareness out across the social media network. That's basically what we utilize their services for.

They handle our SEO, PR, blogs, and social medias. Currently, we're in the process of negotiating the website.

They initially came on-site, and we interviewed them along with other companies. They came out on top with their services and knowledge.

We're around the budget of $2,000 a month.

We started working with them in November 2012. We have a long relationship and have no plans to stop. We have added services. We started with the basic service (SEO and PR) and then expanded to social media. Now we’re even expanding to new channels, like LinkedIn to generate leads.

Even though we don't have any hard numbers on return on investment, we still feel the value of today's day and age: you need to be high on the SEO market, putting out PR, and posting and communicating through social media. To us, that's our value, and I have a sense that it's working and can attribute some of the sales to them, which is the bottom line. If we didn't feel it was worth it to us, we certainly wouldn't be continuing their services.

They’re very responsive. They also offer suggestions, with services being tweaked as time goes on.

They're top-notch people. They execute properly and take really good care of their customers. Again, we take care of our own customers as a company. How we handle our customers is how we like to be handled, and they handle us in a professional, well-mannered turnaround.

I haven't really thought about that, because they're the experts. For me to really give them some sort of improvement, I don't have anything. To me, they do everything fairly well.
