I’m the digital marketing manager at Carmanah Technologies. Our marketing team takes care of our sister companies’ websites, and Diablo Controls is one of them. We operate in the traffic safety industry.

Diablo Controls used a CMS called Marketing 360 for their website, and they decided to sunset it by May 2023. Given that, we needed help migrating the website to WordPress and making design improvements. If we didn’t do the migration process, the website would cease to exist. As a result, we needed to complete it within a short timeframe. We hired Consensus to help us do that.

Consensus worked on migrating our sister company’s website. The team also created additional functionality for our distribution section, where users could view cards per distributor found on the website. In other words, they updated the site’s design to make it look and feel more modern. They ensured all calls to action and links were visible on each page while migrating all backend details, including meta tags and descriptions for SEO purposes.

I mainly interact with Art (Founder & Creative Director), but two teammates have worked on the project from Consensus.

Our criteria for the project were quite straightforward. More than anything, we had a tight timeframe that we needed to meet. Consensus gave me an extremely detailed proposal, and they’d done a similar project. As a result, I had a reference to see exactly what they could do for us. Further, the feedback and level of thinking I got from speaking with Art made me feel that hiring them was the right choice.

We’ve spent around $13,500, including tax.

The project lasted from April–May 2023, but we still work with them for their maintenance services.

The website’s look and feel are better, and the migration has been absolutely spot-on. We’ve experienced no issues there. All the links are checked, and Consensus has gone above and beyond what we’re expecting — we wanted a minimum design lift, but they offered many additional suggestions on what we could improve. They’ve given our site an updated look and feel.

Consensus is great for meeting deadlines. For instance, I needed help over the weekend because the website was down and had some server caching issues. They were able to help me even if it was the weekend. Ultimately, they met our stringent timeline with 5–6 days to spare.

Their attention to detail is impressive. On top of that, they can meet deadlines without too much pushback. We don’t need to hound them repeatedly, which we’ve had to do with vendors in the past. Moreover, they ensure every element is as good as possible within our timeframe.

They could have better communication. If Art is unavailable, I hope I could talk to someone as a backup. To be fair, this happened only once or twice, and Art was able to get in touch with me as soon as he could.

Ensure you mentioned everything in the proposal. The team needs to ensure you’re clear on the project’s objectives. Consensus will deliver their promise based on the contract they’ve signed, so everything should be crystal clear from the start.

Consensus creative designed me a website and logo to help brand and market my new business. We discussed different ideas for the site in order to reach more users, and they were very accommodating in making modifications in order to abide by my code of ethics in my industry.

Most of the communication was done via email and occasionally through zoom if necessary. There were a few missed deadlines and delays but ultimately it did not impact my business plan or timeline. Anytime I provided feedback, it was accepted in mature way and immediately applied to the website.

I think the overall website design was unique and some of the plugins used were unique. I had several comments made about the resource page which is also my favourite part of the website.

We had an existing website, but we wanted to build a new one that would be more attractive to current and potential customers.

Consensus Creative has built a new website for us from scratch. In the beginning, we gave them some information about our existing site and discussed what features wanted on the site and how we wanted it to look. From there, they proceeded with the process, handling both the development and design work. They implemented the features we requested, including a customer information form, and created a mock-up of the homepage. They also wrote a lot of content for our site.

It’s too early to share any specific metrics, but our new website is starting to make a huge impact in our industry — in fact, some of our competitors have become nervous after taking a look at our site. We’ve also had 4–5 different suppliers ask us where we had our site built.

All deliverables have been completed on time, and Consensus Creative has hit every project milestone. We’ve worked with several different companies before but working with their team is probably one of the best experiences we’ve ever had.

Consensus Creative has been really involved in our project; they treat it as if it’s their own, which is something we greatly appreciate. They’re also very professional.

We’ve been happy with everything Consensus Creative has done. If we had to start over, we’d definitely use them again.

They’ve delivered everything on time. During development, Consensus Creative’s team booked weekly video calls to keep us updated. We also received emails almost daily until they completed the site so we could know what was going on.

We were a little leery about using somebody who wasn’t in the same province as our office, but it hasn’t made a difference at all. Everything has been seamless.

We just finished the site, so it’s hard to say.
