In 2020 I purchased a Wilderness Medical Associates International (WMA), a 40-year old Maine-based firm providing wilderness medical training to wilderness educators, backcountry guides, ski patrollers, search and rescue team members, firefighters, rangers, and more around the globe.Although successful, the company had relied almost entirely on word-of-mouth advertising to promote its courses. With the arrival of more competition in the wilderness medical training space in recent years, it became clear that our team needed expert help to catapult WMA forward on the marketing front.

The overall project management at Anchour is impressive. Depending upon the nature of the project, a team of professionals is assigned to tackle the key tasks led by a project manager who serves as the conduit for all communication. A project outline with specific schedule is developed and presented before each stage with meetings scheduled to ensure that everyone is on the same page and that the project is on track. This arrangement proved successful on each one of the project elements.

Community Concepts is a Community Action Agency and 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing pathways to a healthy life for individuals and families in Western Maine.

Anchour is based in Lewiston, Maine and their offices are close to our main office in Lewiston.

Following the mass shooting events in Lewiston, Maine on October 25, 2023, Community Concepts, Inc. (CCI) worked with local and State partners to quickly establish a resource center where anyone impacted by the tragedy could access free support and resources. We quickly realized the need for branding, resource materials, and a website for the center to best serve those in our community, and partnered with Anchour on the following scope of work: development of a brand name, messaging, brand identity design, signage, marketing materials, and a microsite.

We cannot thank the Anchour team enough for the incredible work, care, and time they dedicated to our project. It was evident from our first interactions with the team how much our community meant to everyone at Anchour. They did not hesitate to swiftly jump into our many, many requests on an extremely tight deadline, and helped us to pinpoint exactly what we needed from a branding and marketing standpoint to best serve our community following the tragedy in October. From naming our resource center, now the Maine Resiliency Center, to our branding, website, marketing materials, and marketing plan, the Anchour team was a guiding light for us as our team also pivoted to providing the resources needed to those impacted by the shootings. We are incredibly grateful for the products, services, and partnership they provided and continue to provide our team.

The Anchour team was extremely timely in their project delivery. Due to the immediacy of our own project, we requested items on an incredibly tight deadline. The Anchour team went above and beyond to fit our project into their schedule, and consistently communicated with us about their progress on all aspects of the project. Anchour was hired to help our company with refreshing and elevating our ad creative related to sales/promotions. Deliverables were 2-3 unique creative concepts per sale and a final version of social and display ads for our team to take to production. Moving into the second year of our collaboration, we've engaged them to help with a new product launch, including landing pages, emails, and digital ad creative. We are also working with them on a CTV ad that we can dynamically pull in sale details to run during promotional times.

Great project management. All deliverables on-time. Great at taking feedback and applying in new and creative ways. Helped push the bounds of what we wanted to do and took us out of our comfort zone is a good way.

We really like their attitude, and they're great collaborators. They are attentive, responsive, and excited to be working on projects for products that aren't excited.

We just started receiving copywriting as part of our services and there is room for improvement there. It could just be that the writers are newer to our account, but we find ourselves re-writing a lot of the output.

Solstice used Anchour's full suite of services as it was a startup. So from initial brand creation including strategy, messaging, identity, design and others, Anchour built the brand from the ground up. They then took the brand of Solstice and developed a website, bringing in the messaging and tone so everything aligned. In parallel, Anchour created marketing roadmap launch and ongoing plan, coordinating all things marketing for the brand.

It's hard to put into words the incredible work that Anchour does. They were able to take my vision for Solstice and bring it to life. Everything from the brand's identity to the website and everything in between, Anchour has built a brand, its assets and strategy as if it were a billion dollar 20 year old company.
